The three of us dined with a friend of Amber’s at this new restaurant. It used to be an Italian restaurant and has been spruced up but not renovated. They didn’t need to as it has a nice feel. Upon entering we were greeted nicely and shown to our comfortable table. Nothing worse than be crammed into a table that is too small. The restaurant was busy so I take that as a good sign. The service right off the start was very friendly. There was a new girl, her second day serving our table, and they were training her on the spot which was fine. The service throughout our entire meal was fabulous. We decided to start with the bam bam shrimp as it was highly recommended by our waitress. It was excellent!!! Crispy shrimp on a bed of crispy homemade chips with a really nice Thai sauce. Yummy. Amber and her friend split the yam fries with a garlic aioli and was upset at us constantly trying to steal another fry. They were very good!! Next was the mussels. I found they were messy to eat, the flavour was good but we found a few closed and one cracked. They need to be checked prior to coming out of the kitchen. Could have also used some bread for dipping for the mussels.
We then moved on to our entrees. I had the lamb which was good but could of had more of a char to the outside. The potatoes were great and the vegetables done to perfection. Ken had the pepper steak and felt it was also good but the sauce could have gone further in taste. Amber had the fish and chips and they were excellent. Crispy fish and salted spiced fries! We had a picky eater with us and she couldn’t find anything off the main menu or the child’s menu to her liking. We asked for a special request of plain linguine noodles and parmesan cheese. They accomodated this very nicely. Even quickly getting more cheese when requested. All in all we had a pleasant dining experience and I would love to go back and try their burgers or pizza for a more casual lunch or dinner.
