Juicing: An easy way to gain nutrients and help your body
Hello all! My name is Jessica and I’m a writer for a shopping blog called Pocket Change. I feel so lucky that Tara let me guest blog here, so I’ll try my best to share with you some of my own personal experiences about Juicing: An easy way to gain nutrients and help your body. I hope I can help you guys out with a new phenomenon that’s quickly making the rounds to health fiends everywhere.
We have all heard about using a juicer or as some people affectionately call it, “juicing.” However, a new craze that people are doing is using juicing as a fast idea. I’m not a doctor so I have no professional opinion, but I am simply sharing with you all my research and personal experiences that I’ve had with the subject.
What is Juicing?
I first heard about juicing from a film called Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. It’s a wonderful eye-opener on not only what we should be doing to make sure that we’re always healthy. On what our nation is unfortunately lacking.
We’re all lacking nutrition. We’re surrounded by food. On a day to day basis we pass fast food restaurants, regular restaurants, hear commercials about food on the radio, see billboards for food, it’s everywhere. But what we fail to realize is that food is supposed to be a form of fuel for our bodies.
The best form of fuel is some of the purest foods that we can eat. I don’t want to be preachy, but if you ever feel that you’re lacking a few vitamins, I’m here to tell you that there’s an easy way to always make sure that you have a fully balanced day worth of nutrients in one glass.
That’s by juicing. You just need one juicer and a ton of fruit and veggies. Here is one delicious recipe that has all the vitamins we need and it tastes delicious.
Juicing recipe (ingredients per person)
2 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 apple, including skin and core
1 large fistful of spinach
stick of celery
Optional: 4 strawberries, with or without the leaves
Feed them through your juicer and it will make about 2 glasses of pure juice. Important note: be an even better beginner juicer and make all of your fruits and veggies organic! You’ll get the full nutrients that way. Here are some of the amazing benefits that you get from each amazing ingredient.
The carrots help with cleansing your liver as well as your eyesight. Anyone that has diabetes should make carrots a huge part of their diet as well because it will help tremendously to keep your health in check. The spinach juice helps with digestion and anyone suffering from painful arthritis.
The celery is also great for arthritis as it reduces acidity and it’s wonderful for weight loss and anyone suffering from lack of sleep. Apples help fight bad bacteria and are crucial for all-around health. They also help make your juice much sweeter! And there’s always the saying to live by: an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Lastly, the strawberries are great for keeping blood pressure down and keeping your skin clear.
This recipe is a wonderful one to start out for anyone beginning out their juice journey. Or someone who is simply looking for a little extra kick in their day and doesn’t feel like taking a boring vitamin. One great place to store any of these veggies is on a great wrought iron fruit basket. These will keep the fruits and vegetables you have out in the open, so you’ll be sure to use them as often as possible.
Thanks again so much to Tara for letting me share a little piece of my knowledge on something I would love to be able to do someday. If anyone has ever juiced or is planning on juicing let us know! Good luck and stay healthy!
