Roy’s Las Vegas
Here is the final installment to the restaurant series of my trip to Las Vegas. This was our last night and a very memorable one, we were a little more behaved. Anyway, it’s Vegas!! I was excited to try Roy’s Las Vegas as it is touted to be Hawaiian Fusion. European techniques with Asian cuisine all wrapped up in Hawaiian hospitality. Sounds yummy to me already.
Upon entering the restaurant you find lovely classic designs with the warmth of wood and friendly attentive staff. We were seated in an intimate booth and delved into our menus. Sushi is one of my favorite things. Funny as I really didn’t like fish for more than half my life and now I love it raw!! Go figure!! We lost one of our own that night, couldn’t quite make it out for dinner. Yes, the night before was great!!
Right, the Food!
Anyway, back to the food at hand. I started off with their signature cocktail “The Original Hawaiian Martini.” Wow, was that good. Fresh wonderful pineapple flavor with a great kick. We then decided to share some plates. First off was the Lobster California Roll. What a delicacy, it just melted in your mouth. Next we shared another beautiful roll, unfortunately, the menu has changed to the summer one and it doesn’t appear on there now.
I like that they change things up. You can then go back again and again and not be bored with the same menu. It would also give the staff some outlets to create new and exciting dishes rather than always making the same thing. Karen and Trisha enjoyed a salad next called the Lilikoi Mixed Greens which had thinly sliced Asian pear with candied macadamia nuts and smoked Gouda. It looked divine and was reported to be excellent!!
For Trisha’s main she had the gorgeous looking Hibachi Style Grilled Salmon and she loved it. Karen had a cannelloni stuffed with shrimp which doesn’t seem to appear on the menu at this time either. She absolutely loved it!! I had the famous Roy’s Trio, Hibachi Salmon, Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi, and Misoyaki Butterfish. Each one was cooked to perfection. A melt in your mouth experience.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and they have many locations with different menus for each location. They are locally inspired so that makes a great impact on the freshness of your meals. Enjoy!! Check out their website at www.roysrestaurant.com
