Strawberry Lemon Smoothie
I have been watching lots of football lately and I am very aware of all the pink that is being worn in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
So today I am doing this Strawberry Lemon Smoothie to support survivors of Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer Research. Aardvark Paper Drinking Straws have gone pink in support of this great cause.
Ten percent of the sales of these straws will be distributed evenly to benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation and the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation-Think Pink, for bread cancer education and awareness.
The program will be ongoing through the 2014 calendar year to benefit these wonderful causes. So get out there and show your support and even more importantly get yourself a mammogram. Early detection is the key!!
There is nothing like a healthy smoothie to start your day. I had to think pink but I also wanted something refreshing, so I paired strawberries and lemon yogurt together, and wow what a burst of fresh flavor this smoothie has.
I love the simplicity of a smoothie, no long list of ingredients, no having to trace down exotic ingredients.
You probably have everything you need at home to make one right now. Change up the ingredients and enjoy a new one every day. We always have frozen fruit in the freezer, it is a good way to use up fruit that may not be at it’s prime.
When berries are still good but not quite as fresh as I like them I throw them in the freezer for later use in a smoothie. ENJOY!!
