Strawberry Blueberry Crisp
Ken bought a few too many strawberries for the baby shower, that I had candy-coated, so he decided to do a Strawberry Blueberry Crisp using my all-time favorite crisp topping. It turned out great.
This recipe is great any time of year but fabulous with fresh local sweet berries. I am eating some right now, it is okay for breakfast, isn’t it???!!! Delicious!!
Summer Bounty
I love coming home from the farmers market or the local produce store in the summer with bags full of fresh fruits and vegetables. The taste is so much better when you are able to buy these products locally. In the off-season we have to have everything shipped on a truck for 3-4 days!
We are lucky in some respects that we are able to get really great produce in the summer, but all our produce in the winter has to be shipped in. This type of food doesn’t grow all that well in the snow!
This crisp would be wonderful to serve after a BBQ on the deck or at a picnic in the park on a lazy afternoon. There is nothing more refreshing than fresh berries, cooked with little or no added sugar.

I make fruit crisp with any and all fruits or a combination of fruits. I especially love peaches when they are fresh. Apple rhubarb or strawberry rhubard are favorite in this house too. If I only have apples I often add a handfull of raisins to them for extra flavor. We have our own apples that are so good all year long. I use the same crumb topping as you but my daughter prefers the one made with just flour and brown sugar. She doesn’t really like the oatmeal so if she’s around it’s done for her. Keep up with the great recipes because my family are really enjoying many of them…

Jenna made this for our company on Sunday night and it is really good. I too tried it the next day. Is it possible that it was even better, or is that just me? Thanks for the recipe. We are trying it again this weekend but gluten free this time. Will let you know how it turns out.

I made this last night and it was fantastic! I cut back on the sugar by about 1/4 cup, but that’s just a matter of one’s taste. Keeping this recipe on hand for future crisps!
