30 Minute Chicken and Dumplings Recipe
Chicken and Dumplings have always been a favorite family meal. A classic recipe that we have changed up to be quick and easy, making it 30 minutes and only one pot. Creamy, hearty, full of veggies and chicken, you will be making this often.

- 1 small onion diced
- 2 stalks celery chopped
- 1 tsp garlic minced
- 2 Tbsp butter
- ¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup milk
- ½ lb cooked chicken diced
- 2 cups frozen peas and carrots thawed
- ¼ cup parsley chopped for garnish
Dumplings:
- 1 cup Bisquick
- 1/3 cup milk
1. In a Dutch oven or large pot, melt the butter over medium heat, add the onion, garlic, and celery and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
2. Stir in the flour and all the herbs and spices and stir for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
3. Add the chicken broth, milk, chicken, vegetables, cover, and simmer for 5-7 minutes to thicken, stirring occasionally.
4. Meanwhile, mix the Bisquick and milk together in a small bowl.
5. Drop the dumplings into the soup one tablespoon at a time.
6. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook the soup for 10 minutes or until the dumplings are cooked through.
7. Garnish with chopped parsley, season with salt and pepper if needed, and serve with crusty bread or a bun.
