6 golden apples 2 cups of orange juice 1/2 Tablespoon of ground cinnamon 1/3 cup of chopped walnuts ½ cup of brown sugar for the syrup and 1/4 cup for the filling. 2 ½ Tablespoons of butter Optional to serve: Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Wash the apples. With a knife, core each apple starting at the stem, removing the center of the apple.
Place each prepared apple, immediately before they turn brown, on a 10 x 10-inch baking dish.
In a small bowl, prepare the filling by mixing the cinnamon, nuts, and ¼ cup of brown sugar.
With a spoon, place the filling inside of each apple. Divide your butter into six small pieces and place 1 small piece on top of each apple.
In another bowl, mix the orange juice with the rest of the brown sugar to make the syrup. Pour inside of the pan to let the apples sit in the juice.
Place in the preheated oven for about 50 - 60 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the syrup has thickened.
Serve warm by themselves, or you can top them with vanilla ice cream.
Enjoy!
