This traditional treat is made even more special with colorful layers. Layered Rice Krispies Squares is fun both for summer for a picnic or gathering or for the holidays with its pretty red, white, and green layers.

Ingredients
 

RED LAYER

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies

WHITE LAYER

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies

BLUE LAYER

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons blueberry Jello mix
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies

Instructions
 

  • DIRECTIONSButter a 9×9 baking pan. Set aside.
  • REDIn a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt your butter (90 seconds).
  • Add the marshmallow, mix until all melted and you have a smooth mixture.
  • Add in the red velvet cake mix and whisk until all red.
  • Take off the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies. Stir until all coated
  • Layer in a prepared 9 by 9 pan. To help spread, use a fork to press down. If the mixture is sticky, take your fork and pass it in the butter. Set aside.
  • WHITEIn a clean saucepan over medium-high heat, melt your butter (90 seconds).
  • Add the marshmallow, mix until all melted and you have a smooth mixture. (90 seconds)
  • Transfer off the heat and add the Rice Krispies. Stir until all coated.
  • Layer it into the pan on top of the red layer. To help spread, use a fork to press down. If the mixture is sticky, take your fork and pass it in the butter. Set aside.
  • BLUEIn a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt your butter (90 seconds).
  • Add the marshmallow, mix until all melted and you have a smooth mixture.
  • Add in the jello mix and stir until all combined.
  • Take off the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies. Stir until all coated
  • Layer the prepared pan on top of the white layer.
  • Take a fork and press the layer down.
  • NOTE: Set aside and let it rest for 30 minutes, allow to cool off and set.
