Chicken Orzo Soup

A delicious and very easy chicken soup.

Ingredients

  • 1 32 oz. containter chicken broth
  • 1 5oz. container chopped carrots, celery and onion
  • 1/4 cup orzo Italian rice
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup cooked chicken about 1 chicken breast

Instructions

Gather Equipment

  • Microwave
  • large microwave-safe bowl (or pasta cooker)
  • wooden spoon
  • Dry measuring cups
  • plastic knife (Be safe: cut with a plastic knife)
  • cutting board
  • soup bowls
  • soup ladle
  • pot holders

Cooking Directions

    Begin Making Soup

    • Open the container of chicken broth.
    • Pour broth into large microwave-safe bowl or pasta cooker.
    • Add the container of chopped carrots, celery and onion to chicken broth.
    • Stir soup with wooden spoon.

    Cook Soup

    • Microwave soup 15 min. Do Not Cover.

    Prepare Orzo, Peas and Chicken "while broth and vegetables are cooking"

    • Measure 1/4 cup orzo in dry measuring cup. Set aside.
    • Measure 1/2 cup frozen peas in dry measuring cup. Set aside.
    • Cut 1 cup cooked chicken breast into small pieces on cutting board. Set aside. Be safe: cut chicken with a plastic knife.

    Add Orzo, Peas and Chicken

    • Remove soup from microwave with pot holders. Sitr soup with wooden spoon.
    • Add orzo, peas and chicken pieces.
    • Stir soup with wooden spoon.

    Cook Soup

    • Microwave soup 15 min. Remove soup from microwave with pot holders.
    • Stir soup with wooden spoon.

    Serve Soup

    • Ladle soup into 4 soup bowls
    • ENJOY!

    When you finish cooking.

    • Put your ingredients and equipment away.
    • Wash and put your dishes away.
    • Wipe your cooking area clean.
