Ingredients

  • 6 - 7 cups fresh or frozen strawberries sliced
  • 1/3 cup white sugar if your strawberries are very sweet then use less sugar
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spray a 9 x 13” pan with cooking spray.
  • Add the strawberries to the pan and spread out so they cover the bottom of the pan.
  • Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the strawberries.
  • Then sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the strawberries and sugar.
  • Pour the water and melted butter evenly over the pan. Do not mix but make sure all of the cake mix is covered. You can even spray the water on to make sure it is covered too.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown and the strawberries are soft. If you have used frozen fruit, this will probably take about 20 minutes longer.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving.
  • Enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
