Halloween Apples

These Halloween Apples are as much fun to make as they are to eat. They whip up quickly and easily, and you can make just a few at a time or double or triple the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 3 Green Apples
  • 3 Bamboo Sticks
  • 1 12 oz. bag of Bright White Candy Melts
  • Red Edible Color Spray
  • Wilton Red Sparkle Gel

Tools needed

  • 1 4 cup Measuring Cup
  • Basting Brush
  • Small Bowl
  • Parchment Paper

Instructions

  • Start by washing your apples well.
  • Pound the bamboo sticks into the ends of your apple using a hammer or meat tenderizer.
  • In your 4-cup measuring cup, pour in your candy melts and microwave for 30-second intervals. Stir vigorously after each interval, even if they don't look melted yet. (Make sure it is melted and as smooth as possible.)
  • Tilt your measuring cup to the side and roll your apple in the chocolate. Gently tap the bamboo stick to knock off any excess chocolate.
  • Spray your red edible color spray into a small bowl.
  • Dip your basting brush into the red spray and fling it onto your apple. This can get messy, so lay some paper towels down.
  • Let the apple sit for a moment and dry.
  • Lastly, add drips to the top of your apple using the red gel icing. I achieved this by making a circle around the top with my gel and then creating lines down from the circle with big drops on the end.
  • Serve and enjoy this spooky treat! Happy Halloween!
