Teriyaki Skillet Burgers

These juicy, flavorful Teriyaki Skillet Burgers are made up in no time. Add frozen french fries and a bagged salad, and the whole meal is done in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • ½ sweet onion thinly sliced
  • 4 Portobello mushrooms sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 4 frozen 6 oz sirloin burgers
  • 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Place a large skillet on the stovetop on high heat and melt the butter and immediately add the frozen burgers and cook for 2 minutes, then turn the burgers.
  • Scatter the onion and mushrooms around the burgers.
  • After 2 minutes, salt and pepper the burgers and turn the burgers again.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and continue to cooking for 4 minutes, stirring the onion and mushrooms frequently.
  • Turn the burgers again and cook for 4 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the burgers reach 160 degrees F. Continue to stir the onions and mushrooms often.
  • Return the heat to high and add the teriyaki sauce. Stir and cook for about 2 minutes.
  • Remove the burgers from the skillet and plate. Spoon the mushrooms and onions over the burgers. 
  • Serve with a large green salad and fries.
