No-Bake Party Mix Ingredients

Ingredients.

This homemade snack mix is a glorious jumble of textures: the crisp snap of pretzel pieces, the smoky crunch of hickory sticks, the buttery puff of corn puffs, and the sweet crackle of caramel popcorn. Honey‑roasted peanuts add a warm, candy‑coated richness, while sesame sticks and corn chips bring that savory backbone that keeps the whole thing balanced. Every handful is a different combination… sometimes sweet, sometimes salty, sometimes both…  but always addictive.

Ingredients

Hickory sticks – These are like a potato chip in stick form. They have an amazing smoky flavor; if you sadly can’t find these, you can use shoestring potatoes or other potato sticks.

Honey roasted peanuts – These add a distinctive crunch with a little salty, sweet flavoring. Need to make it nut-free? Just omit this ingredient.

Corn twists – These are a light, airy, melt-in-your-mouth treat. A good substitute for these are corn puffs.

Sesame sticks – They are small, crunchy, savory snacks made from wheat flour, sesame seeds, oil, and seasonings. They are shaped into short, thin sticks and baked or fried until golden brown and crispy. You can find them in grocery, bulk or specialty stores. Also see the above link from Amazon.

Pretzel pieces – I like to take large pretzels and break them into bite-sized pieces for the mix.

Corn chips – These chips are thin strips that are curled slightly, not the large tortilla chips.

Caramel popcorn – This adds the needed sweet hit to all the salty, yummy other snacks.

This snack mix is perfect for hostess gifts, party favors for showers, birthday parties or take-home treats for dinner parties.

Whether you’re hosting a crowd or simply looking for an easy homemade snack, this No-Bake Party Mix is guaranteed to be a favorite. With its irresistible crunch, savory flavor, and endless possibilities for customization, it’s a no-oven snack mix recipe you’ll want to make again and again. Best of all, it is one of the easiest party snacks you can prepare!

Recipe Pro Tips

Grabbing a handful of Party Mix.

Store any leftovers in your large bowl with the lid or in a ziploc freezer bag for up to 2 weeks (although it should disappear long before that).

Try to avoid humid temperatures. The moisture will soften the crunchy part.

Use a giant bowl, bigger than you think.  You want a bit of room at the top so that the mix has space to tumble around.

Shake the mixture, don’t stir unless you do this very gently. Stirring roughly can crush the delicate pieces, like the hickory sticks.

If your mix is too sweet, add some extra corn chips or pretzels. If it is too salty, add a bit more caramel popcorn or honey roasted peanuts. It is all about balance.

This can be made a day or two in advance if you are prepping for a party.

There are so many variations that you can make for easy party snacks. Other fun salty additions: roasted chickpeas, tortilla chips or pita chips. Other sweet additions: kettle corn, chocolate-covered pretzels, candied pecans.
