Ingredients in Frozen Vodka Slush

Yes, the sugar acts as an antifreeze, keeping the mixture from freezing into a block. The vodka also helps in keeping the drink slushy.
Hot water – This is necessary to dissolve the sugar.
Granulated sugar – As mentioned above, you need this as it acts like an antifreeze to keep the mixture from freezing hard.
Orange Juice – not diluted, but the concentrated variety you find in the freezer section. Inexpensive also.
Lemonade – not diluted either, but the concentrate found in the freezer section.
Vodka – This is like the invisible ingredient, as you can’t really taste it, so beware.
Sprite or 7up – This is used when serving the cocktail to top up the slush. You can use club soda or sparkling water if you find the slush is too sweet.
How to Make Vodka Slush

Mix all the ingredients together in an ice cream pail and freeze for at least 24 hours.

When ready to serve, fill a glass 1/2 full of slush and add Sprite or 7up to fill.

FAQs
Use a clean ice cream pail with a lid for this recipe. You can purchase just the bucket, but I suggest buying a gallon of ice cream and enjoying that, and keeping the bucket for this recipe.
This will keep in the freezer all summer long if it lasts.
This recipe is a nostalgic recipe that was around in the 90s. It is perfect for summer entertaining. I got this recipe from a good friend of mine, Deb. I remember her making it all the time. Then Costco got in on the act and had frozen margaritas in buckets and daiquiris, I believe. They are no longer available, and to be honest, this is better!!
You can use club soda or sparkling water if you find the slush is too sweet.
