Za’atar (pronounced zah-tar) is a Middle Eastern spice blend that’s earthy, tangy, and savory. It instantly adds big flavor to simple foods. The main ingredients are thyme, roasted sesame seeds, sumac and salt. In different regions, the ingredients may vary.

What Ingredients are in Herbed Popcorn?

Ingredients
Popcorn – Use a good-quality popcorn, one that you have used before and trust.
Butter, melted – You can pop the popcorn in oil or butter, and coat with either too.
Salt – I love a good Kosher salt that isn’t too salty.
Za’atar – This is available in grocery stores, specialty stores, and can be ordered online (link above).
Granulated garlic – I like using granulated garlic instead of powdered garlic now because it disperses without clumping.
How to Make Herbed Popcorn

Place the popcorn in a large bowl and drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn, and gently toss to coat.
Mix the salt, Za’atar and granulated garlic together and then sprinkle over the popcorn and toss again to mix the seasonings with the popcorn.

Serve and enjoy!

Italian seasoning or herbes de Provence work beautifully for bold flavor. - Balance with acidity
