What is Needed for Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Candy?

Ingredients for Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Candy

The ingredient list for these Thanksgiving Turkey Leg Candy is only four. You may have to search a little bit for the marzipan, but I have given you a link above to find it from Amazon too.

You can use dark or milk chocolate candy melts, whichever you prefer. The candy melts do harden a bit better than chocolate chips, but you can use those also.

You can get the kind of pretzels that are packed in a jar or come in a bag. Alternatively, the jar does let you see what they look like and if they are right for your project.

Ingredients

24 Braided Pretzel Twists (there’s plenty in a 12oz package)

¼ C. marzipan

14oz donut holes (approx 28 ct, the measurements for the recipe will make about 24 treats)

12oz chocolate candy melts

How To Make Turkey Leg Candy

These cute chocolate-covered turkey legs are simple to make and fun to do with family and friends!

Add about ½ tsp size ball of marzipan to the end of one pretzel twist forming it to resemble the end of a bone.

Using a small knife, pierce each donut hole creating an “X.”

Take the end of the pretzel without the marzipan and poke into the donut hole where you created the “X.”

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your chocolate candy melts in 10-sec intervals for a total of 1 min or 6 times. After each 10 second interval, remove the bowl and stir to allow for even melting and to avoid burning your chocolate.

  1. Holding the pretzel in one hand, spoon the melted chocolate over the donut hole until you’ve completely covered it. Place on a silicon mat or parchment paper until the chocolate has cooled.
