If you love this drink, then try our Earls Coconut Mint Margarita or Hurricane Cocktail, both taking you to the tropics also.

A Blue Hawaiian Cocktail at its simplest form is a tropical libation made of rum (can be coconut rum), pineapple juice, cream of coconut and Blue Curacao. A mocktail version leaves out the rum and substitutes blue curacao syrup.

What is a Blue Hawaiian Made of?

Not too many ingredients are needed, but all make this a very well-rounded cocktail.
Ingredients
Pineapple juice – This, the orange juice, and the coconut give you those lovely tropical flavors.
Orange juice – This adds a lovely citrus touch to this cocktail or mocktail.
Blue Curacao Liqueur – For the mocktail, you can use a non-alcoholic blue curacao syrup. I then use much less.
Cream of coconut – For the mocktail or for a lighter version, you can add less.
Lemon juice – The lemon juice adds a nice tang to cut the sweetness.
Coconut water – Adding that needed coconut flavor to make the perfect tropical drink.
Lemon lime soda, Olipop or Zevia – Whatever soda is your favorite here with a lemon lime flavor.
White rum – For the mocktail, rum is just omitted.
Garnishes – You can add a maraschino cherry, pineapple slice, orange slice, and a cocktail umbrella.

Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
Strain into a glass filled with ice, then top with lemon lime soda, and enjoy.
Optional garnishes include maraschino cherry, pineapple slice, orange slice, and a cocktail umbrella.

Recipe Pro Tips!

FAQ/Tips
- Fresh-squeezed juices enhance the flavors of this drink, but pre-bottled works too in a pinch.
- Using chilled ingredients keeps this drink fresh and helps it maintain an ideal temperature, but leaving the cream of coconut at room temperature helps it blend with the rest of the ingredients without any clumps.
- Can this drink be made ahead of time? Yes, you can make this drink ahead of time. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours without ice or the lemon lime soda, then follow the same instructions above when ready to serve.
- What if the cream of coconut becomes curdled? Just keep shaking with ice if the cream isn’t fully mixed with the other ingredients. It’s a bit thicker than the rest of the liquids, so it may require some extra mixing.
