Ingredients to make Ham and Pickle Roll-ups

These simple Ham and Pickle Roll Ups take only a few ingredients and are friendly on your budget! You can also make them without the tortillas as shown.
Recipe Ingredients
Flour tortillas – These tortillas hold the ingredients together. You can use any size as long as you get more if they’re smaller than 8 inches, or fewer if larger.
Cream cheese – A good amount of full-fat cream cheese is key to balancing the pickle’s tanginess.
Deli ham – Any deli meat will work for this recipe. Depending on size and desired thickness, get between 8 and 12 slices.
Whole dill pickles – We used small-sized pickles, as you don’t want them to be too thick, otherwise the pickle flavor will be overwhelming.
How to Make Ham and Pickle Roll-Ups

Pat the pickles dry with paper towels so the roll-ups don’t get soggy.
Spread cream cheese in a thin, even layer over each tortilla, all the way to the edges. Add 2–3 ham slices in a single layer.
Place 2 pickles end to end along the bottom third of the tortilla.

Starting from the pickle edge, roll up the tortilla as tightly as possible.
Wrap the rolled tortillas in plastic wrap and chill for 30 minutes. This makes slicing much easier and cleaner.
Cut into 1-inch pinwheels with a sharp knife. Arrange seam-side down on a platter.
Can you make Ham and Pickle Roll-Ups the night before?
Yes, you can, though it is not the best option as they tend to get soggy. These roll-ups are best when made on the same day. A few hours in advance is perfectly fine, though.
How To Store Ham and Pickle Pinwheels
Best served fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. For longer storage, don’t slice until ready to serve.

This recipe works every time. It’s definitely good to have on hand for parties or short trips where you need a quick snack on the go! I’ve added some Sriracha to the cream cheese, and it went great!

I don’t know if my comment went thru but I’ve been making these for way over 40 years. I don’t use the tortillas. I just use ham, fat free or regular block cream cheese, pickles & olives. After I make the roll, I roll each in wax paper and put as many rolls in a sandwich baggie that fits. Put in fridge till your ready to unroll from wax paper & slice. No need for tooth picks. I never have to store leftovers. It’s the first to go at parties!

Didn’t see your first comment. Thank you for the comment. I do have some without the tortillas shown also. Good idea with the wax paper. Not sure why you gave the recipe a 3 star though??
