What’s a good punch recipe?
A good punch recipe is what you’ll find below. Yep, you can rest assured that this year you’ll have a new go-to punch recipe that is a perfect blend of carbonated, fruity and delicious.
I may or may not have had a few sips too many. Yes, it was that good and this is sure to be a real crowd-pleaser. And guess what? It has a pop of red for all those holiday celebrations too.
This would also be a perfect punch for baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, and other fun gatherings.
I love the simplicity of this fruit punch. You don’t need pineapple juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice, orange juice, and lemonade or even fresh fruit. Keep it simple and you will get rave reviews.
Festive Punch
I grew up in a pastor’s home and entertaining was something we did a lot of. We lived in a small town in Upstate New York called Bath. Our time there was during my elementary and high school years.
From missionaries to musicians to artists to the African Kids Choir — someone was always coming over for dinner, kicking us out of our bedrooms and offering stories that were full of inspiration. And did I mention all of the pot luck dinners?
However, I wouldn’t trade any of those memories. And I learned so much about being a good hostess from my mom… invaluable lessons. A lesson like how to make a guest feel at home, setting an inviting table and more.
One event my parents hosted every year was for the board members of the church. It was quite an extravaganza.
Mom did all the cooking, baking and always pulled out the punch bowl. I remember the sherbet she topped her punch off with was always a favorite of mine. Yum.
While I don’t have a large punch bowl, you can always improvise. For some reason, punch bowls seem to have become a thing of the past.
The good news is, you can always whip up a punch recipe in a large glass pitcher or beverage dispenser. Sure, you might have to make an adjustment here or there, but most beverage recipes are pretty adaptable.
How do you make a punch?
With only three ingredients, this is an incredibly easy punch recipe to make. Grab a bottle of chilled champagne, a 2 liter of chilled ginger ale (a lemon-lime soda would work too) and some frozen strawberries.
Add all of the ingredients into your beverage server of choice. You have several options from a punch bowl to a beverage dispenser to a large glass pitcher.
I used a large glass pitcher and used 3/4 bottle of champagne and 3/4 liter of ginger ale — and added what I thought to be an appropriate amount of strawberries. It tasted amazing.
My husband even enjoyed a couple of glasses. It is a lovely alcoholic punch that isn’t too strong.
Please note that the longer the punch sits out, the strawberries will thaw and lose their color. This is a recipe that should be made and consumed within a reasonable time frame.
It’s certainly not a recipe to make ahead of time but it is super easy to make and serve right away! You also don’t want an ice ring in this punch as it will water it down. Just have everything nice and cold and put together just before serving.
With that being said, be sure to pin or print this recipe. Enjoy and cheers!
