What is in Everything Bagel Dip?

Ingredients for Everything Bagel Dip.

What does everything bagel dip taste like? Have you ever had an everything bagel? If not, then they are the best!! There’s so much to love about a good, old-fashioned everything bagel. That perfect blend of poppy seeds, sesame seeds, minced onions, minced garlic, and salt makes the ideal combination. It is like the best of all bagels together!! If I have my choice of bagel, I am instantly drawn to this bagel, and we have done a few recipes to prove it. If you like this seasoning, also try our:

*You can make your own Everything Bagel Seasoning, but now it is also readily available in grocery stores too. See below for our recipe.

Ingredients

Whipped cream cheese (8oz) at room temperature
Sour cream (4oz) (or substitute plain Greek yogurt)
Everything bagel seasoning (store-bought or *homemade)
Dried parsley

How to Make Everything Bagel Dip?

Close-up of dip in a bowl.

In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, bagel seasoning, and dried parsley. Make sure to mix until fully incorporated. You can use a hand mixer or standup mixer if that is easier than doing it by hand.

Scoop the mixture into a small bowl suitable for serving and place it in the center of your serving board.

Sprinkle a little bagel seasoning on top of your dip. You can sprinkle on a bit of the dried parsley, too, if you like.

Arrange celery sticks, baby carrots, mini bagels, and bagel chips around the dip bowl. Other choices are any other dippable veggies (think your average veggie tray and more), crackers, potato chips (ruffles are the best), pretzels rods or chips, tortilla chips, and more. Enjoy!

Recipe Pro Tips!

Close-up of dip in a bowl.
  • The longer that the dip sits, the stronger the flavor becomes. Make sure to not put in more than 2 tbsp of the bagel seasoning unless you like a very strong flavor. It is easy for the flavor to become too strong if you put in a lot of seasoning.
  • This dip can be refrigerated for 2 days in an airtight container or with cling wrap firmly wrapped around it.
  • Make sure to use full-fat whipped cream cheese and sour cream. This makes the dip extra tasty!
  • This recipe can easily be doubled if you are feeding more of a crowd!

How to Make my own Everything Bagel Seasoning

This seasoning is easy to make, and you may already have all the ingredients in your pantry. I love making homemade seasonings; they are less expensive, and you can make a small amount, too. Try this seasoning on fish, chicken, vegetables, salads, and more.

Ingredients

*Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • 1/8 cup sesame seeds (a mix of regular and black sesame seeds is good too)
  • 1/8 cup poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Kosher salt

Toss together the ingredients in a small container with a lid. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month.

What Else to Serve With This Dip?

A bagel piece stuck into the dip.

This is a great warmer weather dip to serve for a backyard gathering or a BBQ. It is the perfect portable appetizer to take to anyone’s place, and it is the ideal make-ahead also. Here are some other great spring and summer recipes to add to this one!!

  • Cucumber Hummus Bites – These are best served icy cold when the weather is hot. Perfect little bites to cool you down.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Chicken Bites – These can be made on the grill or the oven and are the best party food ever!!
  • Bruschetta Caprese – Perfect in the spring and summer when the tomatoes are sweet and succulent.
  • Watermelon Feta Skewers – Always a crowd pleaser, easy and delicious.
  • Roasted Grape Tomatoes – Perfect accompaniment to any appetizer platter. In the spring and summer, when these are everywhere, they are amazing to indulge in.
