What is in the Pizza Bowl at Olive Garden?

Ingredients for Copycat Olive Garden Pizza Bowls

I wanted to make this recipe very easy and accessible for everyone. All the ingredients are store-bought and ready made. Who wants to slave over a recipe on a Friday night?

So the sauces are jarred, the cheese can even be bought grated and the dough is also available in your grocery store. Frozen meatballs are great in a pinch and a huge time saver too.

Feel free to add in your favorite pizza toppings, but personally, I love the little meatballs in this dish. Chunks of cooked Italian sausage would do it for me too in all that cheesy goodness.

Ingredients for Pizza Bowls

Pizza dough

Olive Oil

Roasted Garlic Alfredo Sauce

Store-bought frozen meatballs

Favorite store-bought tomato pizza or pasta sauce

mozzarella

Parmesan

How to Make a Pizza Bowls

Ramekins upside down on a foil lined baking sheet painted in oil.

The supplies are pretty basic also. A lot of us already have small ovenproof ramekins in our homes for many other uses. Also, an onion soup bowl that is oven safe can be used too.

Supplies For Pizza Bowls

4 – 4″ oven-safe bowls, I used ramekins, but onion soup bowls would also work

Brush for olive oil

Baking Sheet

Foil

To make these easy pizza bowls just follow these easy steps!

Have your dough ready if you are making it homemade. Divide into four sections.

Preheat oven to 450F.

Heat alfredo sauce in a small saucepan.

Heat tomato sauce with the defrosted meatballs in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Place the bowls upside down on a foil-lined baking sheet.

Brush the 4″ bowls generously on the outside with olive oil.

Make four rounds out of the dough and form around a 4″ bowl bottom; the top of the bowl can be slightly wider.

Place in the oven immediately, don’t let the dough sit as it will stretch. Bake for 17 – 20 minutes or until golden brown and set. Rotate the bowls carefully once or twice for even baking.

Let the pizza bowls cool for a few minutes and then remove carefully using a fork to creep the dough away from the sides of the bowl. You now have pizza bread bowls!! How easy was that?!

Have the sauces piping hot and ready to go.

In the bottom of each bowl, place about 1/3 cup of alfredo sauce in each.

Sprinkle on a 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese and 2 Tbsp. Parmesan to each bowl.

Add six meatballs with sauce on top of the cheese to each bowl.

Again, top with 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese and 2 Tbsp. Parmesan.

Heat in oven until cheese melts. Do not overcook.

Olive Garden is hubby’s and my favorite restaurant, ever! When the regulations and such here in NH are lifted a bit more, that’s where we heading out to dine on a date night. For now? Your pizza bowls copycat recipe will have to do. We’ve never had the pizza bowls at Oliva Garden before, but happy to try these at home to get a little taste of our favorite restaurant’s menu option!

Thanks for catching that Lyn, no they are not that many calories, it calculated it out wrong using too much pizza dough. I have changed it now.

Well, how annoying is that, so sorry, it is 1421 calories per bowl according to my calculator. Not a light weight dish but very delicious for a treat.
