Shrimp Alfredo
I found some pasta nests at the store and decided to do a Shrimp Alfredo with them. Yummy, I haven’t had this in years. It turned out great, maybe a little thick on the sauce so I upped the cream in the recipe for you. This is a fast and easy weekday meal ideal for Spring!!
Shrimp Alfredo Recipe
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. butter
1 large clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 cup white wine
3 cups half and half cream
1 cup parmesan, grated
Salt to taste
1 lb. shrimp cooked in crab boil spices
8-10 tagliatelle nests
Freshly ground black pepper
Parsley to garnish
Instructions
Heat a large pot of salted water for the pasta. Melt butter in a frypan and saute garlic and red onion. Add white wine and let it reduce to less than a 1/4 cup.
Add 2 Tbsp. flour to the onion mixture and stir for 1 min. Slowly with a wooden spoon or whisk add the cream. Heat to simmer and reduce slightly.
Add the cheese and salt to taste. Cook pasta to the manufacturers’ instructions. Ladle sauce over the pasta nests (if they come apart while cooking just reform them into little nests again), top with the cooked shrimp.
Garnish with parsley and freshly ground black pepper.

Holy crow, this looks good! I could eat shrimp all day. If only I could make a career of it…

Tara, my hubby will thank you (and me) for this! I didn’t grow up eating seafood, but I’ve been adding it to my “married menu” regularly. 🙂 My hubby always orders Shrimp Alfredo when we go out… bonus points to you for showing “how to make it at home!”

could u tell me what tagliatelle nests are I would llove to try this at home and where do get the
crab boil spices
Tara Noland says
Tagliatelle is a pasta and you can buy them already formed into nests. If you can’t find them just twirl your own tagliatelle or fettucini. As for the crab boil it is readily available in the US, Zatarain’s is what we usually buy. You can also make up a little pouch of your own with mustard seeds, corriander seeds, whole allspice, dill seeds, whole cloves and bay leaves.

How long do you boil the shrimp and how much seasoning do you use in the boil pot?
Tara Noland says
It depends on the size but until they are pink and cooked through, usually about 2-4 min. The seasoning that I use comes in a pouch and I put the whole pouch in the water.
