One of the simplest pleasures in life is a milkshake. They seem to slow you down, make you pause, sip, taste, and enjoy life! One of our favorites is a Blueberry Milkshake and we discovered using Ube ice cream just brings it to a whole new level of yumminess.

You can either use fresh blueberries or frozen blueberries for your milkshake. I find using the frozen ones just gives you more of an icy milkshake. Plus try our new Strawberry Banana Milkshake for another refreshing treat!

How To Make a Blueberry Milkshake

Making a milkshake couldn’t be easier but you do need to have the correct proportions. We like to add 1 cup of ice cream, in this case, our homemade ube ice cream.

Follow that up with 2/3 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries and then 1/2 cup skim milk or 2%. You can add more or less milk to get it to your desired consistency.

Blueberry Health Benefits

Simple, easy pleasures in life sometimes are the very best!! Eating blueberries gives you many health benefits but who knew when they are so delicious too! Blueberries can help heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer prevention, and mental health.

Eating just one cup of blueberries provides you with 24 % of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. Plus blueberries make an exceptional anti-oxidant and they only have 84 calories per cup.

We love using blueberries in so many recipes. They are so healthy and taste so wonderful. In the summer months, they are as sweet, plump, and big as can be and we just can’t get enough of them.

We almost always have some fresh or frozen. Washed up in the fridge they make a great snack right out of the container!

Besides our amazing recipes below you can use blueberries to top waffles,  yogurt, oatmeal, or cereal, ice cream, and more! They are a delicious and versatile berry that so many of us love.
