Slow Cooker Chicken Cheese Tacos
I have made this very easy recipe many times now. Slow Cooker Chicken Cheese Tacos takes no time to pull together and it is a tasty and healthy meal your whole family will love!! All it takes is chicken breasts and salsa to start off with. Nothing is easier!
Then 15 min. before serving you shred the chicken and add in the cream cheese. Wait for it to melt and then stir it in. It is that easy and if you like it spicy or mild just add in the right salsa!
Don’t put the slow cooker away in the summer months. This is a great appliance all year round. It doesn’t heat up the house and tacos are nice and light too on a hot day. These tacos are a great way to change up Taco Tuesday!!
Add on your favorite toppings and you are done. For me, I like to keep it healthy with avocados, lettuce and tomato but you can add in sour cream, cheese, etc. Whatever you like!

- 3 chicken breasts
- 16 oz. salsa
- 6 oz. light cream cheese
- 8-10 small flour tortillas
- Sliced avocado
- Sliced iceberg lettuce
- Chopped tomatoes
- In a slow cooker place the chicken breast in and top with salsa. Heat for 7-8 hours on low or 3-4 hours on high. Shred chicken and then add the cream cheese, let cook on high for 15 min. until softened. Stir into the chicken and salsa. Serve in tacos with lettuce, tomato and avocado or other toppings you desire.
