32 Magnificent Mediterranean Recipes

We have started a Mediterranean diet of sorts. Eating healthy and wonderful meals that are full of flavor. So I wanted to gather some together for both you and me in these 32 Magnificent Mediterranean Recipes.

I love having tons of veggies in my diet, along with some healthy proteins and delicious cheese like feta! 

We have them divided down into three categories appetizers, salads and mains! I think we have gathered a nicely rounded selection of recipes for you! Enjoy!!

Mediterranean Recipes

The Mediterranean diet is loaded with vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains and olive oil. Quite literally adapting to a Mediterranean diet is one of the healthiest choices you can make for yourself.

Typical Mediterranean cuisine incorporates vegetables, fresh fruits, olive oil, protein packed legumes, whole grains, fish and even a moderate amount of red meat and wine.

The flavours are robust and the health benefits of eating Mediterranean foods are hard to ignore. If you are interested in eating foods the are more heart healthy, start with some delicious and easy Mediterranean recipes.

What is a Mediterranean Diet Recipe?

Mediterranean recipes, combined with the Mediterranean diet puts emphasis on eating primarily plant-based foods such as whole grains, vegetables and fruits, nuts and legumes.

Couple these items with healthy fats and replace salt with robust herbs and spices to season food. If you are eating Mediterranean food to get healthy, limit your red meat intake to no more than a few times a month and eat poultry and fish at least twice a week.

If your doctor gives you the go ahead, you can even have a glass of red or white wine here and there.

What foods to Eat and not to Eat on Mediterranean diet?

If just starting out on the Mediterranean diet, you may have some questions. If you find yourself wondering what you should and shouldn’t be eating, you are not alone.

Eat: Vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes, potatoes, whole grains, breads, herbs, spices, fish, seafood and extra virgin olive oil.

Eat in moderation: Poultry, eggs, cheese and yogurt.

Don’t eat: Sugar-sweetened beverages, added sugars, processed meat, refined grains, refined oils and other highly processed foods.

The Mediterranean diet is very focused on a variety of healthy food items, limiting the not so healthy ones.

Mediterranean food is not only a delicious and healthy way to eat, but it provides several options for you to choose from when it comes to appetizers, salads and even main courses. Choose this flavourful way to enjoy a healthy and delicious meal every night of the week.

    The Meditarranean diet is famous for its very healthy qualities, so I will try and make some of your best choices. I love vegetables and pasta so I will try those first.
